Horse-Riding

Just 15 kilometres from the town of Rijeka, in the Jelenje Municipality, (address: Lukeži 11), near the elementary school, operates the Horse Riding club „ Vodičajna“ with some 20 horses and about 40 club members.

More than half of the horses are Arab thoroughbred horses, warm blooded, haflingers and half-bred horses. Horse-riding enables contact with nature and horses and provides an opportunity for active holidays and efficient therapy. Those with no riding experience, those who need recreational-therapeutic riding or those who enjoy in dressage riding may experience all this within the safely cleared, sandy riding-ground, 40x20m in area.

But, on horse-back you can also go for an excursion and get a unique experience of the Grobnik area and its surroundings: the source of Rječina and its upper course with the old mill, the old Town of Grobnik with the Frankopan round tower, the wood paths leading to the mountain chalets on Hahlić and Platak, the numerous mountain peaks and clearings and the varied plant and animal life.
